Khazanah Residency Programme (KRP)
The Khazanah Residency Programme aims to nurture young Malaysian talents by equipping them with the latest knowledge
The Khazanah Residency Programme aims to nurture young Malaysian talents by equipping them with the latest knowledge, skills and networks through selected short-term residencies, fellowships or courses run by world-renowned institutions.
Participants are expected to give back in various forms upon completion, creating a ripple effect of positive impact for Malaysia. This initiative supports Khazanah’s strategic imperative of Advancing Malaysia, with a focus on building capacity and cultivating vibrant communities.
The programme currently comprises three initiatives:
Khazanah Art Residency
The Khazanah Nasional Associate Artist Residency Programme provides Malaysian emerging artists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the international art scene. Participants are encouraged to experiment, grow, and create new work while connecting globally.
Six artists have completed the programme in London, each describing it as a “life-changing” experience, with many showcasing their work at notable exhibitions.
Khazanah Media Fellowship
In partnership with Wolfson College since 2013, the University of Cambridge and the Wolfson Press Fellowship supports two Malaysian journalists and one Khazanah or Khazanah-linked employee annually. The fellowship aims to cultivate well-rounded media practitioners who can contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
A total of 20 participants have benefitted from this enriching experience.
Khazanah Public Service Residency
Developed in collaboration with the Razak School of Government (RSOG), this three-week programme is delivered by the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) across New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. It targets aspiring public sector leaders, focusing on leadership development and meaningful contributions to their ministries.
Since 2018, four public servants from various ministries have completed the programme.
In 2023, the Khazanah Design Residency (previously conducted in 2018 and 2019) was succeeded by the Khazanah Sustainability Residency, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and alignment with global megatrends.
