Malaysian Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) contribute significantly to GDP and employment, driving national economic growth. However, they continue to face hurdles in securing necessary financing for scaling up and reaching the next stage of growth.
Through Dana Impak, Khazanah helps ambitious MTCs with solid fundamentals and strong potential to overcome these challenges by providing a platform to build capabilities for innovation, expansion and capital provision. In addition, we match them with partners to unlock growth and scalability.
Unlocking Mid-Tier Growth
The Mid-Tier Growth Innovation Programme (MGIP) is a comprehensive initiative designed to enable high-potential Malaysian MTCs to grow further.
MGIP aims to strengthen
the positioning of the MTCs’ products and services by deepening customer understanding to unlock new growth opportunities.
Participants will learn
to apply a customer-validated approach to develop new products or expand into new markets.
MTC Growth Innovation Programme (MGIP) Fundraising Incubation & Capacity Building
MGIP’s intensive programmes include an 8-day Masterclass that equips MTCs with the necessary knowledge to navigate capital markets. This is followed by one-on-one coaching for selected MTCs for up to 15 months, to guide them on fundraising requirements and expand their growth and innovation capabilities.
SC ELEVATE Programme: Catalysing MTCs’ Access to the Capital Market
Dana Impak has signed a Memodandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) on the SC Elevate Programme, to increase MTCs’ access to funding and familiarise these firms with the capital markets to further catalyse growth and expansion, in line with Khazanah’s ‘A Nation That Creates’ framework.
The MoU will focus on measures to support MTCs in their next phase of growth and innovation, as well as joint programmes and initiatives to increase their awareness and access to the capital market, including:
Fundraising incubation for 60-100 MTCs to prepare for capital markets
Specialised MTC capacity-building programmes to grow their competitiveness and innovation

The Dana Impak Mid-Tier Companies Growth Innovation Programme (MGIP) is designed to accelerate the growth of Malaysian Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) as part of our wider commitment to catalysing the Malaysian investment ecosystem.
MGIP is a Capacity Building Programme lasting over a year that is divided into three main phases:

Enablement Phase
An 8-day workshop where participants use a customer-centric approach to develop business plans

Acceleration Phase
A 3-month accelerator programme for selected MTCs, where industry experts will provide mentorship to refine strategies and prepare for investment
03
Venture Build Phase
Successful MTCs will embark on a 12-month journey to achieve investment milestones with dedicated support

Annual revenue of RM20m-RM500m (services) or RM50m-RM500m (manufacturing), with preference for revenue >RM100m

Profitable with a strong growth and innovation mindset, with preference for proven track record of consistent growth

Preferred sectors: Electronics & Electrical, Digital, Halal, Climate Resilience-related industry

Who is the programme for?
The Eligibility Criteria
- Malaysian-owned/ founded private companies
- Annual revenue between RM20m–RM500m (non-manufacturing) or RM50m–RM500m (manufacturing), with preference for companies with revenue exceeding RM100m
- Profitable, with positive net profit after tax
- Strong growth and innovation mindset, preferably backed by a proven track record of consistent growth
- Not owned by government-linked companies (GLCs) or government-linked investment companies (GLICs)
- Not more than 20% owned by Listed Companies
- Preferred sectors include Digital, Halal, Electronics & Electrical, Climate Resilience-related industry
